Challenge: IFBT wanted their website to be an extension of their mission to offer information and support to families of those with developmental disabilities. Their main objective was to make the current site much more interactive, engaging, and useful to the visitors.
 
BIS Solution: BIS worked with IFBT to redesign a website that allows families and patients to actively build their own online community. Every page offers a “reach-out” opportunity to subscribe to email newsletters, print the current page, contact IFBT with questions and story ideas, or to Tell a Friend about the website. The “Submit a Story” feature lets visitors read other’s life stories and suggestions and share their own.

Additionally, BIS customized the IFBT calendar feature to filter and display events by age group, and to allow visitors to submit their own events for publication. With the user-friendly backend CMS tool used to author and edit the content of the website, IFBT staff can easily manage age-specific content, and quickly post photos, videos, and the most recent news items and events.
