The Challenge: The Thurston County Economic Development Council (EDC) needed to focus on attracting businesses to the local community. They sought a redesign of their current branding system, along with a new web site. The site needed to provide information about business resources and its climate, membership benefits, demographics, schools, transportation, incentives and a whole lot more. The EDC also wanted to provide a means for users to sign up to attend seminars and events that the EDC supports.
Results/ Metrics: BIS first designed a logo and identity system, including a family of complimentary and analogous colors, to better represent the county. The combination of graphics, movement, and organization in the logo then served as the foundation for the web site design. After conducting a competitive review of economic development sites, BIS fine-tuned the navigational structure and designed the new website to showcase Thurston County. Additionally, the client can add new content as needed with the BIS Content Management System tool and take advantage of the E-subscribe and Form/Survey modules to capture signups for event and seminar data.
