The Challenge: Workforce wanted to expand and improve its web presence to allow a broad range of site visitors to locate training programs and support the association of training results data for those programs.

Results/ Metrics: BIS approached this project by analyzing Workforce's web needs both individually and as a whole. After collecting information and conducting client and user interviews, the team decided to integrate the functionality of what were two discrete sites into a single, user-friendly site. The Workforce site now supports a powerful and flexible search option using expandable bars and easily viewable search results -- users can now quickly and easily locate information about specific training, providers, and program results using a variety of pertinent access points. BIS also created a functional, elegant information architecture; built a Content Management Tool that allows site updates and administrative content review and approval, as well as supporting a bulletin board to which notes and other real-time Information can be added; and integrated the site with the State's Secure Access Washington program for security standards.
